The Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) credential is Microsoft’s leading certification for Windows Server 2008. Currently there are two MCITP certifications that can be earned for Windows Server 2008. They are the MCITP: Server Administrator and the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator with the Enterprise Administrator certification being at the highest level. Each MCITP certification builds on a combination of Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) prerequisite exams and one professional series exam, which allows you to earn an individual MCTS certification for each of the prerequisite exams that you pass. This also allows you to develop your technical resume with each step you take towards your MCITP certification. The MCITP certification is also the upgrade for the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certifications.
